Hello Cleveland Basketball Family!
My name is coach Randy Mitchell. It is beyond an honor to be a part of one of the first home grown AAU teams representing our wonderful and competitive athletic community.
I have been coaching at GCAA for 3 seasons now, having recently coached as both an assistant and head coach of 8U, 12U, 13U, and 14U both winter and summer leagues. I also coach early development leagues ages 3-5 years old at Garner Rd. The past two years I was named the All Star coach of 12U and 14U where I had the honor of coaching our high potential players in our area. I am also the owner of an i9 Sports youth league in the surrounding cities of Raleigh that focuses on helping young kids succeed in life through sports.
I have loved the game of basketball for as long as I can remember. I started playing at 8 years old. Once upon a time went onto play 2 years in Middle school, 4 years in high school, 2 years at junior college, and 1 year as a D1 team manager at Fairfield University.
My wife Katie and I have lived in the Cleveland area since 2017 and are proud to call it our home. We have two sons, Jackson (4) & Karter (2) who you will probably see rocking mini versions of our team’s jerseys and hoping to follow in the footsteps of all your boys one day!
